What each city costs

What a day costs in each city

The same day in all ten cities: public transport, a coffee, a simple lunch, half a dinner for two and one paid entry. Nice is the cheapest and London the most expensive. Flights and hotel not included.

Example for one adult, at October 2026 prices. Coffee, meals and beer are Numbeo averages; transport and entry fees are official prices. In Nice the example has no paid entry, because the city’s sights are free.

Prices checked, one by one

Every transport, museum and monument price was checked on the official page of whoever charges it, and each guide gives the date this was done and lists its sources at the end. Café and restaurant averages come from Numbeo, which collects prices submitted by people who live in and travel to each city. When a price couldn’t be confirmed, it isn’t shown: the guide tells you how to find it.
